POLITICS AND YOU
2019 is right around the corner
(For my foriegn audience it is the year when National Elections for new leaders are condicted)
and there have been series of agitation centering around more political visibility for the youths.

Let me add before I continue that I prefer to use the word "leadership" as opposed to "politics" because in my philosophy leadership is the SERVICE UNIT, While politics is the process.

Sadly it's common these days that a lot of youths consider "politics" a job description. Story for another day perhaps.

Let me continue from before I digressed.
While I'm in love with the fact that youths seem to have put on their thinking caps at last and more willing to play active roles in NATION BUILDING.

I have this tiny little "But" gnawing at the inside of my heart and I've been running it through my mind time and again.

Here is what it is.....

It's not enough for us youths to agitate for more political visibility.

Beyond our quest for visibility,
What truly is the motivation for the amendments that we want to see?

That said....
My next other worry is, it's not enough to lift our placards in agitation. How about we "lift" our MENTAL CAPACITIES alongside?

How about we invest in our brains so much that we are considered undoubtedly sound?

Now I'm not saying there aren't any sound youths, I'm simply saying WE NEED MORE OF THOSE.

The mess we are in today is simply the result of once mediocre youths who refused to equip their minds.

We seem to be crazily towing the same path!

How much have we read or researched as youths?
We fantasize at becoming "Economic solutions" where we can't even boast of having read one book in that area let alone BECOMING AUTHORITIES in the subject.

This is just one of the many instances.

I think what we need now is to invest in our brains and grow our minds.

Become a guru in the area you are interested in  proffering solution.

A man cannot act beyond the level of information available to him!

If we fail to do this, we will just be recycling a bunch of clueless leaders as with what we have in present day Nigeria.

My stand may not completely align with the "urgent" take over assignment on our minds but if the goal is to be successful in every sense of the word at this "take over", then we've got to start from the BASICS.

Which in my mind is GROOMING OURSELVES TO EXPERTISE!
Against this, there is no Law!

Our Brains remain our most powerful Arsenal!

I'm just a regular Nigerian youth and I have had my say!
